Many of Ambu’s employees, however, do not have regular access to work computers or devices. This presented a clear need for a training solution that could deliver compliance content in a way that was consistent, accessible, and easy to verify. In addition to supporting employees in staying current with the latest versions of Quality HandBook documents (QHBs), Instructions (INS), and other compliance-related materials, the solution also needed to provide clear documentation that training had been completed and documented. This is particularly important during audits, where traceability and proof of compliance are essential. As a result, Ambu faced the dual challenge of managing compliance training effectively across a global workforce, while ensuring that it remained both accessible and reliably documented.

The Solution: SAP SuccessFactors Validated Learning Management System

Ambu chose SAP SuccessFactors Validated Learning Management System (vLMS) as their new Learning Management System (LMS) in cooperation with their existing SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central implementation.

Validated SaaS benefits highly regulated environments because it provides a way to comply with regulatory requirements. Partnering with Effective People, they worked to implement and integrate the vLMS with their current environment, developing a seamless and compliant training solution.

What is Validated Learning?

Validated learning is a structured framework in learning management that integrates validation principles into a system’s design to support compliance with regulations. By using a validated learning Software-as-a-Service (vSaaS) solution like SAP SuccessFactors vLMS, companies in regulated industries can systematically document procedures and processes to demonstrate consistent, compliant results.

Validated learning comes as four different learning environments: Sandbox, Stage, Pre-Production, and Production. Having three SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central instances, Ambu uses the fourth learning instance, Sandbox, as a standalone environment for testing learning setups.

  • Classroom Training for General Learning – Instructor-led training (ILT) sessions focused on skill development and professional growth.

  • eLearning – Self-paced digital courses that allow employees to access learning content anytime, anywhere.

  • Read & Understand (INS & QHB) – Critical document-based training requiring employees to acknowledge comprehension of policies, procedures, and quality handbooks.

Business Impact: Improved Compliance and Training Efficiency

Working with Effective People, Ambu received three vLMSs integrated with their existing SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central instances. All compliance training is now centralized in one place and integrated with Ambu’s document handling and versioning system. Historical learning data from Ambu’s previous learning system was imported into the global vLMS. Although a new learning system was implemented, employees were not required to retake their training.

The system also simplifies administrative tasks, offering quick access to user overviews and compliance statuses for audits.
